Dwell's 100

As a house + home periodical, Dwell magazine is more or less in its own category. With a focus on the modern, the sustainable and the functional, Dwell promotes and showcases the best in current residential architecture. Its mission was clear from the outset, nicely explained here by its founding editor-in-chief, Karrie Jacobs: "Show people living - not posing or acting, but really living - in their homes." She also promised never to style the homes in such a way as to disconnect their allure from reality: no gargantuan floral bouquets, no artfully placed fruit bowls, no artificial wind blowing sunlit sheers. To celebrate its tenth anniversary, Dwell now presents a special-issue publication featuring 100 of the best homes the magazine has showcased over the last decade. It's a treasure I've added to my 'must-have' collection.
